Face-off-HTC Desire 501 vs Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro


HTC had on December 10 announced three new Android smartphones for India, namely Desire 501, Desire 601 and Desire 700. We have already discussed details of Desire 501 (read here ). The HTC Desire 501 is priced at Rs 16,890 and is set to hit the Indian market from this week. At around the same price, Samsung is currently offering its famous Galaxy Grand Quattro.


Thus let's see how they fare against each other in a one to one comparision.


Design & Display:


The HTC Desire 501 measures 128.5×66.9×9.8mm and weighs 130 grams. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro measures 133.3x70.7x9.65 mm and weighs 143.9 grams. This difference in dimension and weight was obvious as the Desire 501 has a 4.3 inch display while the other has a 4.7 inch touchscreen.

Ironically, both the smartphones have 480x800 pixels resolution but since the Desire 501 has a smaller screen, it has better pixel density than the Grand Quattro. To be specific, the Desire 501 has 217 ppi pixel density while the Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro has 198.5 ppi pixel density.
