Asus Padfone Mini 4.3 with quad core Snapdragon 400 launched

Following the footsteps of HTC and Samsung, Asus has now introduced a mini version of its popular flagship model. Asus has introduced the new Padfone Mini 4.3 - a miniature version of the Asus Padfone.

Like the Asus Padfone, the new model has two parts - the phone and a docking station. In the Asus Padfone Mini 4.3, the mobile phone has a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with 960x540 pixel resolution. While the docking tablet features a 7-inch display with 1280x800 pixel resolution. The mini 4.3 smartphone houses a quad-core 1.4 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 mobile processor.

The dual-SIM Padfone Mini 4.3 smartphone comes with 16 GB on-board storage. There is an 8 megapixel camera at the back with LED flash for decent photos and full HD videos. The camera offers high speed shooting and Hi-Light "Owl Mode” for the photography frenzy. In the front lies a 2 megapixel camera for video calling.

Asus has clubbed a 1500 mAh battery while the 7 inch docking tablet offers 2200 mAh battery. From the specifications, the Mini 4.3 appears to be quite a mid-range smartphone. Compared to this, the HTC Mini offers HD display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. However, the bundled docking tablet does seem enticing and not to forget that the Padfone Mini 4.3 comes in dual-SIM configuration. Asus has though not clarified the plans of introducing the Padfone Mini 4.3 in India.
