First cut-Nokia Lumia 525

At its recently concluded annual strategy sharing summit Nokia showcased Lumia 525, which will be available in the market from the first week of January. Though the Finnish handset company has not revealed it price it is expected to be around Rs 10,000. Here is our first impression of the device.

Specs

Nokia Lumia 525 has a 4 inch IPS LCD display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution. This 9.9 mm thick smartphone has a 1 GHz Snapdragon S4 dual core processor and 1 GB RAM. It has 8 GB internal storage and a 64 GB expandable storage slot.

The Lumia 525 has a 1430 mAh battery, which is claimed to provide 14 days of standby, or 16.9 hours' 2G talktime, or 10.6 hours of 3G talktime. The 3G handset has WiFi , Bluetooth 4.0, GPS , and micro USB 2.0 for connectivity. There is a 5 megapixel rear camera with f/2.4 aperture in the Lumia 525. However, it has no flash.

How is Nokia Lumia 525 different from Lumia 520

If we do a quick comparison of Lumia 525 with Lumia 520 the major difference between the two is RAM, and minor difference between the two is in their design.

As mentioned earlier Nokia Lumia 525 has 1 GB RAM, whereas Lumia 520 has 512 MB RAM. As a result of this beefing up one will be able to download some apps and games from the Windows Phone Store, which was not possible earlier. It would not be wrong to say that Lumia 525 is a replacement of Lumia 520 with upgraded RAM.
