The Snapdragon 800 version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 (model number I9506) made its way to Europe last month when it landed in Germany. The availability has expanded slightly and the phone is now available in France as well.
There the phone has been dubbed Galaxy S4 Advance (rather than S4 LTE-A or other similar monickers) and is available in black and white.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Advance has several advantages over the international Galaxy S4 – a more powerful processor (Krait 400 cores at 2.3GHz over Krait 300 at 1.9GHz), better GPU (Adreno 330 over 320) and support for faster 4G LTE (up to 150Mpbs).
French users can grab it for 70 (after rebate) with a 2-year contract with Orange (70 a month) or get it SIM-free from Amazon at 630. Note that these prices are for the 16GB model.
For comparison, a 16GB Samsung I9505 Galaxy S4 (that's the Snapdragon 600 version) is much cheaper at 450 SIM-free.
