Gionee, which has just unveiled its new Elife E7, has also announced that it will soon launch E7 Mini smartphone.
Gionee said that the E7 Mini with a Mediatek octa-core chipset. The China based company has though not revealed any other information about the phone.
Mediatek has recently announced the octa core solution in which all eight cores will work simultaneously. Mediatek has stated that the chipset registers clockspeeds which range from 1.7 GHz to 2 GHz. The chipset will also be able to decode high resolution 1080p videos at 30 fps. And according to reports, it manages a score of 30,000 on the Antutu benchmark, which is second only to Qualcomm Snapdragon 800's 35,000. The chipset supports Mediatek-developed four-in-one connectivity combination that includes WiFi ,Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and FM, and it also supports WiFi certified Miracast. It has PowerVR series 6 GPU from Imagination Technology. This chipset is likely to be called the MT6592, and will get eight A7 cores clocked at 2 GHz each.
Samsung currently has three octa core devices - Note 3, Galaxy S4, and Note 10.1 (2014). India based handset manufacturer, Intex too has recently said that it will launch it will launch a phone with Mediatek's octa core solution in 16 GB and 32 GB storage versions in January next year, whose prices will start from Rs 20,000. Korean handset giant, LG too is reportedly making an octa core processor based smartphone, which is purportedly called as Odin .
