Samsung has silently made available its Galaxy S Duos 2 in India for Rs 10,790. Its predecessor, the Galaxy S Duos, too is selling for around Rs 10000. So what does the new phone brings to the table?
Galaxy S Duos 2 vs Galaxy S Duos:
Both come with dual SIM slots, 5 megapixel primary camera, LED flash, and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. Infact, both the phones look like twins with equal dimensions - 63.1x121.5x10.57 mm. The new handset weighs 118 grams against 120 grams of the older one. There could be few design elements in the new phone but at this juncture we are not in a position to tell the difference as we have not yet see the new one.
The new phone too has a 4 inch touchscreen that too with 480x800 pixels resolution as the older Galaxy S Duos. Both have in fact the same 1500 mAh battery. Also the two have 4 GB ROM and 768 MB RAM.
The major differences between the two are: the new Galaxy S Duos 2 comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system while the older version has Android 4.0 ICS operating system. The new entrant has a 1.2 GHz dual core processor against 1 GHz single core processor of the older Galaxy S Duos. Also, the new phone's 5 megapixel camera can record HD videos while the older one is able to capture videos in 480x800 pixels resolution. In the new phone, there is 64 GB micro SD card slot while in the older there is a 32 GB card slot.
