Firefox beta for Android arrives with bunch of improvements

Mozilla has released yet another update for its Firefox mobile web browser app on the Google Android platform. The new update brings along several improvements, mostly addressing the developers. The Mozilla Blog published the details about these new improvements which also includes the NFC Bump - meant for sharing Firefox tabs with another NFC-enabled Android phone. The beta build of Firefox for Android is available in the Google Play store .

The Firefox web browser app for the Android platform gets support for the WebRTC components for enabling real-time communications across the web. Imagine engaging into a chat via mobile browser - we certainly hope it would not be cumbersome. There is one Reader feature that basically strips down a page of ads and other formats to present the text as well as images in a readable format. The new Reader menu brings toggle options between Serif and Sans-serif fonts.

Users can now long-press on the Reader icon to add the particular article to their Reading list. The Address Bar now changes colour to orange when the Reader is on and to Grey when the Reader is off. The new Quickshare option creates a space in the Share menu that lists variety of services where the particular content or snippet can be shared.

Since these features are still in Beta build, it will take awhile for them to appear in the Firefox final version for the Android devices.
