As stated by The Mobile Indian earlier, Samsung has launched its Galaxy Gear smart watch and Galaxy Note 3 phablet today in India. The 32 GB version of Note 3 has been launched in India for Rs 49,990 while the Galaxy Gear is priced at Rs 22,990.
The Galaxy Note 3 features a 5.7-inch full HD Super Amoled display and will come with the octa-core 1.9 GHz Samsung Exynos 5 processor. This processor has four Cortex-A15 processing cores clocked at 1.9 GHz to take care of heavy processing while the other four Cortex-A7 based cores are clocked at 1.3 GHz to take care of the low end computing and battery savings tasks.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 packs 3 GB RAM and will be offered in India in 32 GB internal storage only. It will also feature a memory card slot to support up to 64 GB micro SD card. At the back of Note 3, there will be a stereo speakers and the 13 megapixel BSI sensor based auto focus camera and LED Flash. Samsung has layered the Nature UX over the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to run smoothly over the powerful hardware.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 offers WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), Near Field Communication, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, IR LED blaster, MHL 2.0 and GPS with GLONASS support. Along with that device has been given a variety of sensors such as Gesture, Accelerometer , Geo-magnetic, Gyroscope, RGB, Proximity, Barometer, Temperature & Humidity and Hall Sensor all loaded on this phablet. The Galaxy Note 3 is 8.3 mm thick and weighs 168 grams including the Li-ion 3200 mAh battery.
Meanwhile, Samsung has also launched the Galaxy Gear smart watch in India which has a 1.63-inch Super Amoled display with 320x320 pixel resolution. It packs an 800 MHz processor, 512 MB RAM, and 4 GB internal memory. The Samsung Galaxy Gear also features two microphones with noise cancellation and has one speaker. Using the microphones, one can perform hands-free calls.
Samsung has added accelerometer and gyroscope sensor in the Galaxy Gear to be used with variety of apps. There is a 1.9 megapixel camera with BSI sensor and auto focus in the Gear. The camera is capable of recording 720p HD videos and playback. Galaxy Gear features a contextually aware horizontal intelligence platform - Atooma.
The Galaxy Gear gives notifications for the messages, incoming calls, text messages, emails and alerts. Users can accept to read those messages or ignore them to view them later. Apart from being a smart watch, the Galaxy Gear also allows making voice calls and answering them on the built-in mic. Apart from that the S Voice feature in the Nature UX of the smartphone can be used along with Galaxy Gear to draft messages, create new calendar entries, set alarms and much more.
