Acer announces the Iconia A3 priced at Rs 26,000

Acer has announced its latest tablet, named Iconia A3, for international markets. The 3G version of the tablet has been priced at Rs 26,000 or 299 Euros, while the WiFi only version costs Rs 21,000 or 249 Euros. The tablet will be available in Europe, Middle East and Africa from October this year and hopefully it will later be launched in other countries including India.

The Acer Iconia A3 has a 10.1 inch display with IPS (In Plane Switching) technology which allows better colours, contrast and even wider screen viewing angles than LCD or TFT displays. The capacitive display has 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.

Acer Iconia A3 features a 1.2 GHz quad core processor which is assisted by 1 GB RAM. The tablet will come in 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage variants and both have micro SD card slots; though not cleared by Acer itself, we expect the tablets to support up to a 64 GB card.

Acer has also armed the tablet with something called IntelliSpin feature that expands its screen image; so that even when lying flat, the screen image will rotate to match the tablet's orientation when turned. Iconia A3 features 3G connectivity for data. Along with that the tablet will be launched in WiFi-only model as well.

Iconia A3 is powered by the latest Android Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system, 5 megapixel rear camera capable of video recording in HD resolution, and a front camera for video calling as well.
