Samsung smartphone users can now enjoy Facebook in nine Indian languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati. This means they can also chat with their near and dear ones on Facebook Messenger in these languages.
"We are very excited that Facebook for Android and Facebook Messenger on Samsung smartphones will now support nine Indian languages. This is an excellent opportunity to help bring millions of Indians online via Facebook through these collaborative efforts," said Kevin D'souza, country growth manager, Facebook India.
Kevin was speaking on the sidelines of an event organised by Samsung to announce user interface and apps in the above mentioned nine Indian languages in Delhi today.
However, as of now it will be supported on Galaxy Grand, Galaxy S4, and Tab 3 only. Samsung though is mulling to bring the support for more affordable handsets starting with Galaxy Star within this month.
