Chip maker MediaTek has revealed that it has started the production of its MT8135 quad-core processor which will power the upcoming Amazon Kindle Fire tablet that is scheduled to be released in 2014. According to reports , it is the first time ever MediaTek has ever been selected for supplying components to Amazon for devices, but that's not all as the upcoming Tablet will also be a low-cost one.
MediaTek had unveiled the MT8135 quad-core system-on-chip (SoC) for tablets last month . The new MediaTek MT8135 integrates the ARM big.LITTLE multi-processing technology and Imagination's PowerVR Series 6 graphics chip.
MediaTek's MT8135 packs two ARM Cortex-A7 processor cores and two ARM Cortex-A15 processor cores. These pairs of processor cores work together with the PowerVR Series 6 graphics chip to make the phone OS run smoothly.
MediaTek has also integrated the 4-in-1 connectivity solution that combines WiFi , Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and FM Radio. All these are important features that are ideally expected from the tablets. Apart from that, the MediaTek MT8135 also supports WiFi certified Miracast standard for easy streaming of multimedia content between two supporting devices.
