LG has sent out invites to media organisations for the launch of an unnamed device on August 7 this year in New York. Now analysts are predicting it to be the mysterious Optimus G2 whose alleged specifications have been doing the rounds on web for quite some time.
As reported earlier, the LG Optimus G2 is expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor . This chipset houses latest Krait 400 quad core processor with clock speed of up to 2.3 GHz . It also supports asynchronous computing which allows only the required number of cores to be activated depending on the need of the task, reducing the battery consumption. The phone is expected to have Adreno 330 GPU. The chipset will also support ultra HD display with resolution up to 2560 x 2048 pixels.
Along with that the Optimus G2 will feature a 5 inch or bigger display, most likely with full HD resolution and a 13 megapixel camera. Though its internal storage is being pegged at 32 GB; 62 and 128 GB models are also being expected.
The LG Optimus G2 will employ top edge display technology that makes the bezel around the display almost negligible giving a slimmer profile to the device as well as making it better in terms of look and feel .
We are also expecting LG to launch the smartphone with the latest operating system, probably the Android Key Lime Pie if it has been launched by that time. Besides, nifty technologies like gesture control cannot be ruled out either.
