Popular Imaging utility Instagram will soon be going to display occasional advertisements on its mobile applications but only limited to the users in the United States. According to the Instagram blog, it's a move to create a sustainable future for the service.
"We have big ideas for the future, and part of making them happen is building Instagram into a sustainable business. In the next couple months, you may begin seeing an occasional ad in your Instagram feed if you're in the United States," the makers of the app said.
But it is much likely that the same model be replicated in other countries as well. The advertisements will be presents in a more subtle way with the use of images and videos which users any ways see through the application and service. But to give better control to the users, Instagram will also allow users to hide any particular advertisement if they do not like it and wish to see it in future.
This way users would be able to choose which advertisement they want to see or not. Users however would have to give a feedback on advertisements they choose not to be displayed. This feedback would help the developers understand the needs of the users better and serve better to the users in return.
The advertisements surely would help Instagram to earn some additional revenue which in turn would help developers get better features and service for the global users.
