Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) that provides telecom services under the MTS brand today announced the launch of a dual SIM (CDMA + GSM ) smartphone, called MTS Duet.
The MTS smartphone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor. MTS Duet has a 3.5 inch display with 320X480 (HVGA ) pixel display with capacitive touch, 1200 mAh battery, 3 megapixel camera, WiFi and expandable memory slot of up to 32 GB. The smartphone will be available for Rs 4,799.
As an introductory offer, MTS is offering unlimited free local calling and data usage for two months.
Launching the handset, Leonid Musatov, chief marketing and sales officer, MTS India, said, "At MTS it is our endeavor to come up with innovative telecom solutions to delight our customers. The latest in our range of Smartphone s is MTS Duet - a great combination of style and technology. The Smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon S1 processor and runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform. Aimed at the on the move, tech savvy youth, it comes bundled with aggressive high speed data and voice plans."
Leonid added, "MTS will launch a slew of dual mode smartphones this year, powered by MBlaze Data network to provide seamless data experience to the customer".
