Xolo, a part of Lava International, is on its way to become the first Indian handset player to provide over the air Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update for its smartphones.
Spokesperson on the Xolo said to The Mobile Indian, "We will be releasing the Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update in next few days for some of our smartphones and it will be available over the air. We don't want our smartphone users to waste their time and energy in first locating the nearest center and then getting their smartphone upgrade when technology can do it remotely."
Among the Indian players Micromax and Lava Mobiles which is a brand of Lava International similar to Xolo have already rolled out Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update for couple of smartphones in their portfolio but for getting it one has to visit their respective service centers, as it is not available over-the-air.
As of now there are seven Xolo branded smartphones available in the market, the latest being the Xolo X1000. Following the list of smartphones that are expected to get the Jelly Bean update.
Xolo X1000
Xolo X1000 comes with a 4.7 inch Sharp HD2.5 D edge curved glass display. The use of a single glass that integrates seamlessly with the unibody design nullifies any possible refraction and adds to the flawless viewing experience. Resolution is 312 pixel per inch (ppi).
The device has an 8 megapixel rear camera with imaging capabilities like a burst mode, which operates at 15 frames per second (fps) and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. On the memory front it has 8 GB internal storage and 1 GB RAM, with a microSD card that can read 32 GB of memory. Xolo X1000 has a 1900 mAh battery.
Xolo A1000 (Rs 12,990)
Xolo A1000, a smartphone with a 5 inch display, has a one glass solution (OGS) that makes it quite sleek-just 8.8 mm thick. In designing the smartphone Xolo has removed the extra flab on the border of the phone while retaining the display area to give it a slim fit look.
Xolo A1000 is powered by a 2100 mAh battery and comes with an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash at the back and VGA in the front. The phone is powered by a 1 GHz dual core MediaTek MT6577 processor and has a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution HD screen. It has 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded to 32 GB using micro SD cards. Xolo A1000 is the successor to the Xolo A 800.
