HTC 606w smartphone to feature a 4.3 inch display; Ultrapixel camera

HTC is quietly working on yet another smartphone with Android operating system and the much renowned Ultrapixel camera. GSM Insider spotted a listing of the HTC 606w unnamed handset that has a 4.3 inch touchscreen display and design similar to the Facebook phone - HTC First. However, the HTC 606w seems to be an iteration derived by taking design influences from other HTC devices.

The display of HTC 606w is to come with 720p HD resolution. The smartphone is said to carry just two capacitive buttons in the front and there is a blue strip going around the display and sticking to the other part of the phone. In the front, this blue strip carries the speaker mesh and most likely will have BoomSound technology just like the HTC One.

This smartphone houses dual core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 series mobile processor, Adreno 305 graphics chip and 1 GB RAM. HTC will load the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5 running on it. The smartphone will also feature Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi , GPS with A-GPS as well as Glonass support.

The HTC 606w will feature a 1.6 megapixel camera with Ultrapixel technology to capture great quality images. As of now, there is no clarity on whether it will feature HTC Zoe too. Here's an interesting bit - the phone will support dual SIM configuration. Apparently, this appears to be HTC's response to Samsung Galaxy Grand but with slightly better hardware.

We expect HTC to announce this smartphone sometime in the second half of this year and it might initially be launched in the China region.
