Sony recently introduced a mini version of its Xperia Z1 smartphone, named as Xperia Z1f , in Japan. Now the company plans to introduce the Xperia Z1 mini version later this year as Xperia Z1S for rest of the world, according to popular Twitter account EVLeaks which has also shared image of the so called Xperia Z1S. It also claimed that Sony is set to launch the phone by the end of this year. EVLeaks has though not shared any more information about the phone.
The Xperia Z1S seems like yet another spin off from the Z1 series for the Xperia family. Sony has been known for introducing Xperia devices with similar sounding model names. Sony launched the Z1 f in Japan as the mini version of the Xperia Z1. The Xperia Z1f features a 4.3-inch touchscreen 720p HD display and packs powerful quad-core 2.2 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 mobile processor inside with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. Sony has used glass and aluminum together to offer waterproof support.
While it is unclear what specifications will the Xperia Z1S bear but it is rumoured to be the International version of the Z1f smartphone. If that is the case, then consumer would totally enjoy the powerful hardware in small package.
The Z1S has leaner look and 4G notification in the status bar hints it as LTE supporting device. Rest is difficult to determine from the rendered image. Sony is expected to launch this device by end of 2013 and we hope that the Z1S gets launched in India too.
