Lava has launched a new 7 inch tablet with 3G SIM support at Rs 8,499 which is available on Flipkart.
Called the Lava eTab Connect+ or Z7C+, the tablet is based on Android 4.0 operating system and has a 1 GHz single core Qualcomm processor. It has 512 MB RAM and 4G B inbuilt memory which is not much impressive.
However in terms of connectivity the tablet is at par with a smartphone with 3G, WiFi , Bluetooth support and also GPS is there for navigation. The tablet has a 2 megapixel camera at the back while a VGA unit is in the front.
The Indian tablet market is not as hot as it used to be about 6-9 months back, largely because of emergence of phablets (5 inch or bigger smartphones) and given that background a single core tablet priced is not going to cut ice with most buyers who would rather go for dual core processor based 5 inch devices. It is therefore important for tablet makers to differentiate the tablets with bigger display or at least more powerful hardware based tablets.
