Sprint launches HD Voice in July

Sprint is finally launching HD Voice across its network in the United States, a whole two years after it first set its sights on the feature.

HD Voice increases the dynamic range of the audio transmitted over the network from the standard four octaves to seven.

Sprint is hopping onto a very old wagon. Orange launched HD Voice in the UK over four years ago and there are too many carriers across the world that have had the feature for some time now.

Still AT&T announced HD Voice this year as well, so the carrier isn't too far behind in its own market.

Sprint has been trying out the feature in select covered areas so it may have been available for you for some time now. The mass rollout will happen in July and we expect the bigger cities to get it first.

In order for you to experience the feature you'd need a device that supports it. Luckily most flagship phones nowadays do. After all the feature dates as far back in time as the Nokia N8.
