Xolo recently announced the Q900 Android smartphone with a quad core processor for Rs 12,999. For the same price, you can get a Samsung Galaxy Core.
Here we take the opportunity to compare the two smartphones on the basis of their features.
Design and display
Xolo Q900 comes with a 4.7 inch display. Xolo calls it a Retina Display but do not fall prey to jargon. The term Retina display was coined by Apple in 2010 while unveiling iPhone 4; it is defined as a display with high resolution roughly beyond 300 ppi. Actually the LCD display of Xolo Q900 has high definition (1280 x 720 pixel) resolution and perhaps that's why it is called a Retina display. The Samsung Galaxy Core has a smaller 4.3 inch display with lower (480 x 800 pixel) resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy Core, though, is 8.95 mm thick and weighs 124 grams. As is obvious from its bigger display, the Xolo Q900 weighs 138 grams and is 9.9 mm thick.
