Nokia and Samsung, the two heavyweights in the Indian mobile phone industry, have devices in almost all price brackets. Recently Nokia launched its Lumia 525 for Rs 10,399, thus placing it directly against the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 which is available for around Rs 10,500. Though they have different operating systems, they are priced alike and thus we have made a comparison between the two on the basis of their features.
Design and Display:
The Nokia Lumia 525 comes with premium look and glossy body. It has changeable covers and comes in dazzling orange, radiant yellow and luminous white. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 comes in only black and white colours. Also, the Samsung smartphone has smooth and matte plastic back cover with slightly curved edges. The sides are made of false-metal plastic but they have the gloss finishing, which makes the device look good. So basically while the Lumia 525 is much more pleasing to eyes, matte finish makes the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 much more comfortable to use. So you have to decide whether you want dazzling looks or comfort.
Both the phones come with 4 inch display and that too with 480x800 pixel resolution so in terms of display quality, there is not much of a difference between the two handsets. But if you look at their dimensions, the Nokia Lumia 525 is wider and thinner than the Samsung handset. But the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 is taller and lighter than the Lumia 525. To be specific, the Nokia Lumia 525 measures 64x119.9x9.9 mm (width, height, thickness) and weighs 124 grams. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 measures 63.1x121.5x10.57 mm (width, height, thickness) and weighs 118 grams. The difference in weight is due to the battery - the Samsung phone has a 1500 mAh battery against 1430 mAh of the Lumia 525.
Storage:
The Nokia Lumia 525 comes with 8 GB internal storage (ROM), 64 GB micro SD card slot, and 1 GB RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 has 4 GB ROM, 64 GB micro SD card slot, and 768 MB RAM.

Camera:
The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 comes with a 5 megapixel rear camera with auto focus capability. To assist this camera in low light, there is an LED flash in the back of the phone. Also, there is a 0.3 megapixel camera in the front of the phone.
On the other hand, the Nokia Lumia 525 has no front camera but it comes with a 5 megapixel rear camera. However, it does not have an LED flash. So Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 definitely has an edge over the Nokia Lumia 525 in the camera front; hopefully, the Samsung phone's camera performs like that of Nokia Lumia 525, if not better.
