Intel planning affordable Bay Trail processors for next year

Intel Atom family's new Z3000 processors codenamed Bay Trail were shown earlier this year. These are quad-core mobile processors for powerful tablets. Now Intel has planned to address the entry-level tablet segment as well with the same Bay Trail core chipsets. Intel is reportedly planning cheaper Atom, Bay Trail processors for affordable tablets thereby compete with tablets running MediaTek and Qualcomm chips.

These processors will be made available in the second half of the next year. The Intel Atom Bay Trail processors are manufactured using 22 nm CMOS process technology. However, releasing those processors before the second half next year would be kind of late. That means one can expect affordable tablets with Intel Atom Bay Trail processors inside only by the second half of 2014. These tablets will run Google Android updates.
