State run telecom service provider, BSNL will reduce its data prices further and will announce new data plans on this August 15, a senior executive of the company told The Mobile Indian.
"We are currently providing one of the cheapest data tariffs in the country but to reach more people we will further reduce our data tariffs and we will announce the same on August 15," said RK Upadhyay, chief managing director, BSNL while talking to Sandeep Budki of The Mobile Indian today on sidelines of an event today.
The new reduced data plans will be standalone packages, he further added.
BSNL is the fourth largest wireless service provider in India after Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Communication and Idea Cellular. It has 101.21 million subscribers at the quarter ending March 2013, according to recently released data of TRAI. It provides services all over India except Delhi and Mumbai.
Recently, RCom, Tata Docomo, Airtel, and Idea have reduced their data prices too.
